There would be a yard where the unloading happens. Rerouting purpose Group 4 – Drayage Drayage shipping is generally a short run from the rail siding into a warehouse. The term originally meant to transport by a sideless cart or dray. Companies that provide drayage shipping are usually a specialized carrier that has the equipment to move a container from the train to the chassis in order to be trucked to the warehouse. So drayage is very important in logistics.
